According to Sky Germany, the Bundesliga team has decided to re-sign the English winger, who under head coach Erik ten Hag is not in favor right now.
Talks between the clubs are under way, but United will now have to approve a loan move for Sancho, who arrived from Dortmund for €85 million in the summer of 2021.
Sancho eager about travel
Contracted at United until 30 June 2026, the 23-year-old England international dropped out of the squad in recent months due to a conflict with Ten Hag while United struggles with attack.
Reportedly eager on a return to the German team, where he played from 2017 to 2021, Dortmund seek to sign Sancho on a six-month loan agreement.
In 137 appearances across all leagues, he registered 64 assists and scored 50 goals for Dortmund.
Dortmund is supposed to pay a loan fee for their former player, and United would pay a portion of his salary.
