Biscuits and Sausage Gravy: A Southern Comfort Classic

For the Biscuits: – 2 cups all-purpose flour – 1 tbsp baking powder – 1/2 tsp baking soda – 1 tsp salt – 6 tbsp unsalted butter, cold – 3/4 cup buttermilk

Cut the cold butter into the dry ingredients, mix in buttermilk, and knead the dough. Cut into circles and bake at 425°F (220°C) for 12-15 minutes. 

For the Sausage Gravy: – 1 lb breakfast sausage – 1/4 cup all-purpose flour – 2 cups whole milk – Salt & pepper to taste

Cook the sausage over medium heat until browned. Break it into small pieces as it cooks 

Sprinkle flour over the sausage and stir for 1-2 minutes. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper. 

Split open a warm biscuit and ladle the gravy generously over it. Serve hot and enjoy!
